The Guardian website launched this form of user session advertising in the UK to allow advertisers the opportunity to serve a sequence of advertising messages to a single user as they move throughout the guardian.co.uk network.
A surround session is "triggered" when the user hits an agreed page, and then for the next 6-8 pages that user sees only advertising from one advertiser.
This advertising solution can be used to build a story from one page to the next or simply as a way to showcase a large range of products or services from one advertiser to one potential customer.
